How To Check The Number Of Hits On Your Blog using StatPress

A TG reader on reading my 360 Degree milestone post had asked me a question ,

"how to find no. of hits on our own blog ?"

Now if you have a self-hosted blog where you have access to FTP files, there are umpteen ways to install various tracking codes. But the blogs at TG Town will not have access to making tweaks to the php files. So, then how do you track the traffic coming to your blog.

Simple, StatPress comes to the rescue here.Without going on the detail i will be taking the simplest route of explaining the installation of StatPress on your blog. The step by step pictorial guide for StatPress

  • Go to your TG Blog Dashboard. On the extreme left, you should Plugins tab just below Appearance

  • Click on it and you will taken to the page displaying all available plugins

  • statpress_traffic_plugin1

  • Select the checkbox against "StatPress Reloaded" and click on "Activate" if it is not already active.

You are all set with StatPress now.How to view your traffic stats??

Once you activate the plugin, wait for sometime before the plugin starts registering hits to your blog.

To check your stats, again go back to the dashboard and look for a tab " StatPress" at the end. This is where you will be able to see the details of the hits to your blog.

There is a lot of data shown along with the stats. The basic stats can show you the number of hits everyday and how many spiders are crawling your blog pages.

You can also see exactly which pages were seen and where the traffic came from.I just had a look today and it seems my blog is already getting indexed by Google Search.I had a hit from google when some came searching for a fellow Gadha's name in TG Town.

This is how the Statpress plugin will display your traffic stats
