The Quest For The Ultimate Basic Necessity-My Dream Home

ROTI-KAPDA-MAKAN

FOOD ,CLOTHES AND HOME

These 3 things define pretty much everything we aspire for as humans, aren’t they.I do understand that now people have made new versions saying roti, kapda, makan aur Internet :P .But, i will stick to the traditional ones and take stock of what i want from My Dream Home.

Before that, lets just do a quick dekho into the Food and Clothes department.

FOOD : There are those who say , “Eat To Live” .But then being the part of the new awesomeness world i am part of and a crazy foodie at that, my motto with respect to food is “ Live To Eat”.All our lives we go through the treacherous ordeal of school, college and then slog ourselves for hours day in and day out. What for ? It is for that do nivala of food ,isn’t it :P . If you had any doubt , check out the Foodielogue ( sounds like a travelogue, no) which i did a while back. So, i can safely say that i have a taste for good food, and i have earned it ( Bournville style :P )

Clothes : Well, that flows from the first one. How? A foodie who spends a major part of his time staring at the computer, you get an idea.I have been endowed with a husht-pushpt body and if i remember correctly,3 packs (of flab)  :-) . Goes without saying that i cant afford not to buy clothes and get away like Salman does :P .Moreover, it takes some effort to look good when you have a healthy body given the Mango Junta’s fetish with all muscle-schucle .So, i make do with a decent wardrobe to have women drooling over me ( Well, If the fake Jhunjhunwalla can say that, so can i)

That brings me to the last and the ultimate necessity of any human being (well, even animals need that, but lets keep it simple)

HOME – I have been living away from my home for a good 7 years now having lived in college hostel , rented flat with friends, company guest house, PG (current) but then they have always been houses and none of them had any inkling of bearing any close resemblance to a home.Technically speaking, a Home is where the near and dear ones but then does that mean a bachelor living away from home cant dream of buying his/her own home (Focus on the word DREAM here :P )

Now, Real Estate prices are no mystery and believe me the U.S. credit crunch and the home loan crisis has not helped the cause much.To be absolutely blunt , my current salary and the savings (err..What ?) don't allow me the luxury to even a buy a toilet where i could put the nameplate “Ankit Agarwal” .However, who stopped anyone from dreaming. Not sure if it actually works but then i will use it any was “ Those who dream, get”

How would i want my dream home to be like?

Good question, i haven’t really given much thought to it but then Experience can be a good starting point .The spontaneous genius inside me got to work and bring out the things i would definitely want in my dream home

Calm and Serene Location

As clichéd it may sound, it is one of my top priorities for selecting a home. After spending a good 12-13 hours of my day at work, i would want to spend the rest of the precious time i have left at a place where i can’t be bothered with the traffic noise, neighbors raising hell and what not.I would not mind living a little away from the city, if that’s what it takes to have some peace.

A lush green garden

Well, if you have ever lived in metros, you would know. You won’t find one house with any hint of natural green attached to it.The mad rush and the shrinking land banks has made the thought of having a garden in a home criminal. But, yes i would want a garden ( will even make do with a terrace garden) in my home where i could tend to those awesome tiny little plants everyday.Back home, we live in a flat where there aint much scope of a garden. But, dad being a nature lover has managed to get all the balconies lush green with Money plants and what not.

Small Library

This is a mustest have in my must-have list for a dream home.At the risk of being self-pompous ,I am an avid reader and would be rather left alone with a book in a marooned island then some freaking friend of mine. But, as much as i cherish reading, its painful to see my books suffer homelessness.Loads of them bite dust in some corner of my room and beg for a proper shelter. So, when i build/buy a shelter for me, i am going to ensure i create a shelter for them too

I could on and on with my pre-requisites for a dream home but i mentioned the three closest and probably the most important things i want in my dream home.Apart from these, the usual ones like a sports complex ( though i am unlikely to use it :P ) , 24*7 power backup , a friendly neighborhood are there on the list. One thing is for sure, i am going to browse through the checklist for buying a house for sure
